Aberdare Golf Club was founded in 1921 as a Parkland course at Abernant, which is about a mile from the centre of Aberdare.  This picturesque 18-hole golf course is famous for its mature Oak trees. It was also the home club of one of the UK's most famous golfers Mr Dai Rees, who was a Ryder Cup Captain.  Dai Rees' Father was the club professional from 1938 to 1953 and his Mother was the Stewardess of the club.

Aberdare Golf Club was the place where Dai Rees
received his first golf lesson.

The thirteenth hole was one of his favourites.

Aberdare Golf Course can be testing for most golfers and it is certainly a very interesting and challenging course to play. You will find it surprisingly beautiful with its magnificent views out over the Cynon valley.

View over the thirteenth fairway.

The Club acts as host to a variety of  golfing societies and visitors who come to play the course, and enjoy the excellent food at the 19th hole.

Aberdare Golf Club is always trying to attract more people to play on the course and visitors are always welcome.
We are always trying to improve the course and facilities as we are a progressive club.
In the last two years  we have developed a new patio area and car park and most recently we have built new changing facilities for our members and guests.
